Case
Following are the screenshots of the SJJIAA website which was designed in early 2005. This website doesn't have a visual identity and information that should have.
Task
To create...
- a new identity
- a new website architecture
- a new user interface & user experience
Layout
The benefits of using this layout.
+ Easy navigation to the info in less time.
+ Overall website's look remains constant on any page.
+ The colored & categorized layout gives less stress while website browsing.
+ The user can jump anytime in a sub-page of the opened category.
+ User’s eye-flow always comes back to the center.
+ No need to use the browser's back button.
+ Minimum mouse movement on the webpage.
+ Simple color scheme and layout create a hierarchical focus.
Color & Shape
Taking into consideration the history of the college, less saturated colors are kept instead of fresh colors. Color inspiration is taken from the basic color wheel to achieve an elegant & simple look. A user can experience section separation by the different colors unconsciously. Basic shape with a rounded corner for a smooth feel. These shape elements do far more than just pleasing to eyes.
Fonts
Lato and Merriweather font is taken from Google Fonts.
The font color is given in the same way as the section color.
Motion
The user interacts with options to initiate motion, transforming the whole design. All action takes place in a single environment. Smooth transitions between pages and interactions with buttons help the user to stick with the website and not get disconnected.
